General Information About Burbank, California
Burbank is a Los Angeles suburb in sunny Southern California that lies just 12 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. The city was named after David Burbank, a New Hampshire-born dentist and entrepreneur who developed a successful sheep ranch there in 1867. Burbank is only a few miles northeast of Hollywood and allows visitors great access to what is known as the "Media Capital of the World". There are numerous media and entertainment companies that are centered or have established production facilities in Burbank. The list includes Warner Bros. Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, Nickelodeon Animation Studios, Cartoon Network Studios and NBC to name a few.
The city is also home to Bob Hope International Airport. Mokulele Airlines begins service between Burbank's Bob Hope International airport and Santa Maria California on October 3rd, 2017 and will be Mokulele's only scheduled service to Central California.
