Your first checked bag is on us

Starting Monday, August 10, 2026, Hawaiโ€˜i residents with an Elevate membership check their first bag free on inter-island flights. That’s $30 back every time you fly. $60 on a round trip. Head to Molokaโ€˜i, Lanaโ€˜i, Hana, or Kalaupapa a few times this year and it adds up fast. Only two things are needed to qualify: a Hawaiโ€˜i REAL ID shown at the counter, and your Elevate number on the booking. Elevate is free to join.

Checked bag fees are changing on August 10

First checked bag (Hawaiโ€˜i residents with Elevate) FREE
First checked bag $30
Second checked bag $40
Third checked bag $50
Oversized or overweight +$35 per bag

Fees are charged per checked bag, per one-way trip. A connecting itinerary is charged once, not once per flight. Each bag is priced by its place in line. If your first bag is free, the second one is still $40 โ€” a free bag holds its spot rather than resetting the count.

Gold and Platinum are getting more too

Gold members now check two bags free. Platinum members check three. That’s up from one and two โ€” and it counts on every route we fly, in Hawaiโ€˜i and the continental U.S. Nothing to show at the counter and nothing to ask for. Add your Elevate number to the booking and it’s waiting for you at check-in.

Joining Elevate

Elevate is free, and signing up takes a minute. Add your number to your booking and the benefit applies at check-in. Members earn 5 points per dollar on base fare toward reward flights.

Ka huakaโ€˜i maikaโ€˜i!

Additional details. The kamaโ€˜aina benefit requires both Hawaiโ€˜i residency and an Elevate membership on the booking, applies to inter-island flights, and covers one bag for the member rather than everyone on the reservation.

Free bag benefits don’t combine โ€” if more than one applies to you, you get the largest single one. Elevate Silver and base Members don’t receive a complimentary checked bag.

Because we fly nine-seat aircraft, checked bags are subject to weight and balance limits and may travel on a later flight.

Full baggage terms โ€” including size and weight limits, oversized and overweight charges, and refunds โ€” are in Rule 19 of our Contract of Carriage. Fees and benefits are subject to change.
